Valorant Sage Agent Guide: Abilities, tips and tricks

Sage is a Chinese Valorant agent and one of the Sentinels included in the game's Closed Beta. As of now, Sage is one of the most popular healing agents in Valorant.

Abilities

Sage's healing abilities can make the difference between winning and losing the round. Here's a brief look at all of them:

Basic - Barrier Orb

Sage's Barrier Orb creates a wall that provides her and her teammates with some cover. It comes in handy when you want to stop the enemies from retaking the site or to help your teammates when planting the spike.

Basic - Slow Orb

Slow Orb allows Sage to throw up to two spheres that bounce on any surface. Once they are activated, they free a substance that slows down anybody who walks on it.

Signature - Healing Orb

Healing Orb allows Sage to decide between healing one of her teammates or healing herself. When playing Sage, you must press the left button of your mouse to heal a teammate. By pressing the right button, you will heal yourself.

Ultimate - Resurrection

Sage's Ultimate is one of the best in Valorant. Resurrection lets Sage revive any of her teammates. To do that, Sage must get close enough to a teammate.

How to use Sage in Valorant?

As we mentioned earlier, Sage is an important agent in Valorant. However, as Sentinel, she's supposed to provide help to the Duelists, those agents who are in front of the lineup and open the enemy lines.

Sage is an incredible agent due to her healing abilities, which are unique in Valorant. She's a great support to any lineup in the game. Here are a few tips on how to play Sage in Valorant.

Don't go for kills

We won't get tired of saying this: Sage isn't a Duelist, don't go for kills. Sage's healing power is great for providing help to the Duelists when they come back from an early gunfight.

For instance, a Jett who has gotten an early kill can come back and get a health boost from Sage. That's where Sage is important.

Sage's potential to create aggressive plays

While we don't encourage you to use Sage aggressively, her Barrier Orb can create great angles for Sage to get unexpected kills.

By creating a wall on Sage's feet, the wall will elevate her position and place her on an unusual spot. That's when you can get the best out of her Barrier Orb's killing potential.

Nevertheless, we encourage you to use her Barrier Orb as a defensive tool. For instance, the Barrier Orb can be used to block the enemies' path to the site. It can also be used to create a cover to plant or even defuse the spike.

Slow down your enemies

Slowing down your enemies with the Slow Orb is also crucial, especially when it comes to helping your team's Duelists.

Slow Orbs can also be used to slow down the enemies' rushes and to give time to those agents who are still heading to the right site.

Use Sage's ultimate

Sage's ultimate ability is the only one in Valorant that can resurrect a teammate. It's a crucial ability when you are in a 2v2 situation or a retake situation. Don't be afraid of using it, as having an "extra" agent can secure you the round.
